Universal Studios turned 100 today, and its history shows the industry’s changes. The studio’s first film was “By The Sun’s Rays” in 1914, with “Melody of Love” becoming the studio’s first all-talkie in 1928. Two years later, The 1930 war story “All Quiet on the Western Front” won the studio its Oscar, awarded for Best Picture.
